  1. Both my grandmothers always had "scrap bags" in their freezers, gallon sized Ziploctype freezer bags. All the meal scraps went in, even if it was a tablespoon of sweet corn or sweet peas, they were Depression-era women and NOTHING went to waste. Once those bags filled up, it was goulash time. Depending on what "stuff" was in the pot, they'd use pasta or rice or even mashed potatoes or biscuits or cornbread, whatever. I can't remember ever eating a batch that wasn't tasty and filling, and now as a mom, I keep plastic storage like yours in my freezer for this very purpose! It's never the same thing twice, but it's always a hit!

  2. I do the same thing! We called it "POTLUCK SOUP" we have used everything! Left over Chinese, pot roast, Mexican, spaghetti sauce, salsa, anything and everything! Love it!

  3. Patara. that is a delicious looking bowl of soup! It's just me, so if I fixed up a pot like that, it would feed me for a couple of weeks. If the soup wasn't yummy enough, towards the end I saw you pan over to your skillet of cornbread and THAT looked to die for! I love to get a chunk of butter, and spread all over the top when it's hot out of the oven, so you will have that wonderful buttery taste with every single slice. I love me some cornbread too! I hope after supper you will have a relaxing evening with your family just enjoying some tv, or quiet time or whatever ya'll enjoy as a family. God bless ya'll. Hugs~

  4. Patara I did that for years when I had kids at home. Some even after they were grown but not as much. Now I have the great grandchildren you talked about on one video. Lol 13 of them. Never see any of them but maybe one day they will want to know who I was.
