In every garden there are weeds. A wed is seen as an uwanted plant,
however maybe they should just be moved since they SHOULD be wanted!
They are heat tolerant, drought tolerant, free, perennial, and super
nutrient dense. You don’t even have to forage for these!

You might want to also explain the poisonous look-a-like of purslane
Thank you!
– DANGER – poisonous lookalike! spurge is a poisonous plant that is similar in appearance to purslane. spurge is distinguished by a milky sap, which can be seen if you squeeze the stem.
Cottagecore lesbians have entered the chat
Hi Luke, I’m Vietnamese and I believe the plant that you identified as “Vietnamese Coriander” is incorrect. It doesn’t have the same smell, it’s not bitter and it should not have the red center. If you want to compare it to the real “Vietnamese Coriander”, please go to a Vietnamese or Chinese supermarket and check in the vegetable aisles.
I found this to be “another exciting episode.” Also, I let purslane provide ground cover, discouraging other, less tasty weeds.
Spurge can look just like purslane or portulaca and Lady's thumb can look just like the Vietnamese coriander
Thanks for getting out there but Really difficult to see what he's handling with gloves on, I won't be able to identify just from this video.
I love to use the lambs quarter in my scrambled eggs!
some other ones you smoke them but lets dont talk about that…
Thank you for this informative video. These gems are all over my yard. It's a love hate relationship in some cases lol.
Yay We eat 3 of those 5…now I know amaranth! thanks….
About Vietnamese coriander this could be a lookalike, Vietnamese coriander must have distinct smell
Wild plants have been demonized for decades yet most of them that are edible are not only a free source of food, but food that has more nutrition than anything in a grocery store!
Denote your continent!
Oh my goodness. I have all these weeds in my garden. I could have been eating them.
Could have used some closer shots and a little slower on the info.
I’m grabbing my colander now! Rain has stopped so, harvest time!
I love purslane but have never, ever found it in the wild or as a weed. It is so delicious!
Heads up for the detailed info. We have more common food grown around. Love from India.
The Vietnamese coriander you have it’s not look like the real one it’s eatable?
trying to start an edible weed garden how will I be able to transfer the weed if I find some in the wild?
There must be a couple different kinds of Vietnamese coriander. I've seen the ones that you have in your garden as well as mine and yes they are kinda bitter. And I've seen the ones that are sold at Asian markets. They do look very similar but the true Vietnamese coriander has a great taste. I wish it would grow wild here but its a tender tropical plant. I did manage to propagate one from a store bought bushel.
Only if they are a 100 percent edible and not poisonous
Oh and also with weeeds like perslain and dandelion leafs, you can just eat Them?
Good god, I can't grow purslane to save my life. I heard they need sunlight to germinate. Ok, check. Nothing every time.
I asked someone if he wanted some of my purslane. He said no. I plucked a piece and chomped it. "Huh. Tastes like spinach. Don't want any for your salad?"
Thank you for this info. We will all be needing this sooner or later!!!
Thanks, that was a great summary of most of the ones in my yard. Dandelion greens are especially accessible here 🙂 I think the only one in my yard that was missed was plantain. It's not as tasty but is edible.
