In this video I will show you how easy it is to transplant a young avocado seedling.
I live in a cool climate which shows why my avocado didn’t do that well in the water method so with some new roots forming I’ve decided it deserves to get the nutrients from the compost and warmth from the solar tunnel. Follow my progress with more videos to come.
I'm going to town today I'm going to buy an avacodo and try this. You should try growing a mango seed it's really neat.
Thanks and I will give mango a go, what is your method to get your mango to root? Thanks and you should defiantly give it a go!
it seems just like Pine apples Avocado's are the thing to grow ๐ well among many other things that is ๐ great how to sir but I'm sure I can make a bigger mess though ๐ lol
I clean the fruit of the pod, then cut the top very gently. Take the seed out, take a pot with some compost and fill it almost to the top. Lay the seed on its side water then cover with more compost then water again. Put a plastic bag over the top and secure it with a rubber band. Set in a sunny window. When it gets about an inch or two tall take the bag of and enjoy.
Nice meathod, thankyou and I will give it a go!
Yeah It wasn't that messy, In one of your videos knock over a pot or something! ๐ Thanks for watching
Ooo…I'm jealous! Mine didn't grow so I got angry and threw them in the bin! But now I see that yours was not very big I should have been more patient….! (;o/
Lol! Yeah they take a while and in the uk the water stays cold! Try it in compost, thanks for stopping by, Huw
Cute avocado! Best of luck growing it and I hope it grows big, even in your cold climate. ^^
That is what I'm hoping for as well. The next avocado I will get I shall plant it straight in to soil and I'll keep you updated! Thanks
I have been working with my seed for months. I have watched alot of videos, about when to transplant. My seed in the last two weeks has shot up a sprout over 14 inches long and looks like it's about to burst it's first leaves. When should I transplant to soil? Your advice would be appreaciated.
sorry for the delay, transplant it to soil now, it's perfect size
I did so about 3 weeks to a month ago. Bought Miracle grown potting soil, got shells and rocks to put at the bottom so water would drain. The last couple of days, I have noticed that the tips of the three leaves it has put out are browning. There is a new sprouting of leaves coming up. I keep the soil wet but not over so, do you think it will be alright?
+Rodney Cox You dont need to cut the top, if you peeled the skin, your dont need to…
