VIDEO: From Veg to Hedge – A Supplement to Vegetable Gardening


Growing your own food is an awesome thing to do. But hedgerows are often a site of food abundance for many months of the year. This video features a salad I made with 9 different ingredients with almost a 50/50 split of vegetables from the garden and wild food. If this is of interest I will make a couple more videos on this subject in the near future.

  2. Wow, I can't wait to try a raw nettle tomorrow, I often make nettle tea but raw sounds fantastic. I use balsamic and olive oil in my salads a lot and the foraging idea will add a new dimension to them. we love your vids Huw xx

  3. There's plenty around if you know what to look for. Got some wild/escaped mustard growing in my yard, but I think it might be too late to eat them, as they are flowering at the moment.

  4. Yes! Field ecology and every edible plant identified and prepared. Cat tail pie, dandelion wine (and greens), pine needle tips. I only know a few.

  5. Tried a raw nettle today,and followed your brilliant instructions…and it truly was delicious!! I didn't get stung..kids thought I was mad, but hey….Thank you Huw… they will be my new snacking source 😉 xx
