Im tasting some of the asian pears that I harvested from the food forest. This year we got a bunch of Shinseiki and Chojuro asian pears. I personally like the asian pears much more then the European pears.

I'll swap some Melothria Pendula seeds for basically anything from your garden you think I could grow in 8B.
Pears love our climate. Great video as always.
Easily the best cold weather fruit in my opinion. Crisp, sweet, and juicy.
awesome dude
how does the 20th century one taste?
even when i had the pear trees, they were the hard asians that stored good, not good fresh
So jealous! Looks amazing my friend.
I have never eaten a Chojuro, looks delicious. Think there is a typo in your description, but I am picking up what you are putting down. I love Asian pears myself and appreciate you sharing.
I picked here and there (along the roads) some apples in my environment over the last weeks.
Yesterday I made some apple pastry out of them and to my surprise there were 2 pears among them.
Just like your pears they had not the pear-form but a more apple like form.
Too bad I have no idea where I picked those ones… ๐
I buy the darker variety from the store and it is soooo good, so crispy and juicy! Enjoy ๐
is that the same as the Nashi in France? what looks quit the same? i have 15 juge trees of that variety in my orchard in the south west of France Pyrus communis,
I like Asian pears more than European pears too! I think that Hosui is my favorite variety. You should try it sometime. I got 2 fruits from my tree this year! I bought the tree a year ago. https://www.flickr.com/photos/triminh/36747779172/in/dateposted-friend/
