Chickens are cool. —You got pie ?!!! I got turkey hash and fruit cocktail. I'm thankful. not so much for the snow amd 16 degree wind chill. (I cant get the inside of my cast warm)
I've been debating on incubating, I really need to. maybe ill start right after thanksgiving and time it so we have chicks hatch on Christmas to new year time frame

You know I was wondering if Butterscotch wasn't a boy…..He seemed a little more outgoing than a little girl bird….Love the update!!
Look at Butterscotch sitting in the food bowl! Silly chick, maybe he thinks he is a person!.Thanks for sharing with us city folks, Patara. Happy thanksgiving to y'all.
I bought the incubator and the candler. I have my eggs in it now. I'm on day 12 so happy with it so far. Thanks for all you do..
I think Butterscotch is a pullet based on tail feather development.
Here's to success and more babysitting at Thanksgiving ๐ <3 So adorable!
love your new chicks
I put in 3 day olds with 3 week olds. It's been 4 weeks and all getting along good. I got lucky.
the silkies have a mullet to go with their bell bottoms ๐
There is just not ONE single thing NOT cute about those babies. Their shape, their fluffiness, their little chirps. Cuteness personified!
The babies are so cute, but I'm in love with the Silkies! I wonder what color they will be?
Such sweet little puff balls
I got my new Meyer's Hatchery Catalog today! I can't get anymore chicks, but I love to dream. Butterscotch's comb is growing pretty well there?
love to see these cuties
Awe they are so cute!!TFS
I got to admit, I am addicting to baby chicks. I just hatched Silkie and Americana's. Chickens are slowing down some with eggs, Since it is less light. I hatched out a red, white and blue splash Americana saving him for. next year with the new babies I hatch out. Named him Sam. So I am loving chicks and chickens.
After the babys hatch under a broody hen ,how long after do you put them in a brooder?
I have two Buff orpingtons! Great chickens! nice and quiet and peaceful
Hey Miss P….Just dropping by to take a peak at your babies, and to say that I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that all of your family is well and doing fine. Getting ready to soon order me some elderberries to make me a tonic like you make to ward off the flu and all the cootie-bugs that this winter will bring. We had snow flurries the past 2 mornings here in NC…..I live right inside the state line between NC and VA. It's really COLD out there, so bundle up and keep all the animals nice and warm. Give Cora and Cochise a sweet pat for me, and wish Miss Belle a Happy New Year as well!
Do you prefer medicated vs non medicated chick feed?
