VIDEO: Seeding Your Fall Lettuce Using The No Till Method (2019)

Plant your fall lettuce now! Using the no till method of gardening, in this video I show you how to clear out an old summer bed of bell pepper plants and prepare it for sowing multiple rows of lettuce and spinach to grow this fall.

No till farming involves not disturbing the top layer of soil, instead the farmer builds upon its profile with the addition of organic materials, compost, and mulches. This creates a top bio-active zone where your crops exceed normal growth, weeds are suppressed, and fertilizers are not necessary! Its really a win-win-win way to garden in the modern age!

  1. Lettuce loves to grow in cool weather for the most part. However, germination might be slow and not so great. Better to get that lettuce in early while the ground is still relatively warm, then let it leaf out all fall long, having fresh, crisp lettuce all October and November!
