What do elderberries taste like? I know its an odd question, but are there other berries that they have a similar taste of? Thank you.

i made this for my family. my daughter (2) started coming down with a cough, i gave her a few small doses of this through the night, along with diffusing young living thieves oil and she woke up just fine!!
Fresh ginger root was omitted for obvious reasons but was wondering uf ginger root powder could be substituted right in the jar.
Miss P, I am going to the grocer on Monday to pick up some fresh ginger root, and I am planning on fixing up this tonic on Monday. I have already ordered all of the other ingredients, so I am excited about having it on hand. I won't get a flu shot. I heard today on the radio news, that this year's vaccine is only 30% effective…..and then there is the issue of all the harmful things that are added. Prayer, thorough hand washing & elderberry syrup. That is my line of defense against the nasty bug! BTW, do you know if the Mennonites sell the little bonnets on line for the jars? If so, could you guide me there?
