I've heard after making mozzarella you can use the leftover whey to make ricotta cheese, but I haven't managed to see it yet.
Farmers cheese is awesome
I have milk goats, have you tryed to freeze goat milk ? I have and it also has little clumps in it. do you know how to prevent this
Whey was used at clinics in Switzerland to restore the health of patients but WW I and WW II ruined them. Goat whey is superior to cow's milk in restoring health. You should consider marketing goat whey to upscale customers. Coconut oil is good for the health of people over 40 so adding a bit to the whey might help with the taste and the marketing.
How much cheese did you make from 1 gallon of milk? Does it have to be raw milk?
my wife and i love your videos
Have you ever made any other cheese? Like Cheddar or Mozzarella?
As a child we had our own milk from Daisy the cow. I loved churning the milk and how exciting it was to see the butter start sticking to the wooden handle of the churn. We always had milk straight from the barn. Mom would put it in a small brown crock on the table and it was soooo good. Sometimes we even had Nestle quick to put into it. Yummy. That was good times.
Do you know where the cotton in the muslin is from? I'm not sure I would be bothered but since you seem to be concerned about GMOs in feed and such, I just thought I'd mention that not only is most cotton GMO but it is also considered the dirtiest crop requiring the use of 16% of our synthetic herbicides and pesticides despite only taking up 2% of global arable land. Again, I'm not sure I'd be concerned about it straining cheese but I wanted to mention it in case you didn't know.
I raised a batch of Thanksgiving turkeys using clabbored milk instead of water for them. They were unreal delicious!
Great job.. Is a root cellar and a regular dug cellar under the house in modern homes the same thing. We have a basement/cellar.

Can you make cheese from reconstituted dried milk??

You only need 1/4-cup of white vinegar per gallon of milk. 3/4 of a cup is way too much.

Was here to see if you do something unique.
Anyways, cool and I liked your video.

Will you please make a vid about using the whey for your chickens and pigs?
Hi Patera, I made this cheese this weekend! I used the raw milk that we are fortunate to be able to buy year round at our local farmer's market. But honestly, it's pretty bland. What do you do with yours once you make it? Thank you! I love your show so much! We just got 8 baby chicks, and we are doing all we can to be prepared!
Can cheese be made without cooking…and make it raw? Perhaps dehydration?
