  1. Thanks for all you do! I like your informative and energetic presentations on gardening in the backyard setting. You are the real-deal! I am happy to watch your videos and look forward to seeing your beautiful yards! Do up-date later on when your special apple fruits again. I also love seeing all the different tomatoes you harvest.

  2. Loved the video. I get all my seeds from Baker Creek I live near them here in MO. Gorgeous place way cool as well. Thanks for telling us about Fedco seeds never heard of them till now .. love your channel..

  3. James, I really like all the useful tips you provide but…please dispense with all the Hip cultural lingo and gestors in the beginning of your presentation. It's not necessary to get our attention and you really don't need to be a cool dude but only a really good gardener. Thanks for your tips!

  4. Hi James,
I'm getting my tomatoes in now. Thanks for your inspiration and planting tips. I'm going a "grow-off" this year. One store bought plant against a bunch of different varieties I grew from seed. Wish me luck and good luck to your harvest as well

  5. Just want to say thank you. My first year doing tomato's was great but the last 3 years have been bad. I'm trying the trellising, composting, maybe wood chips, and a raised bed. I'm doing from seed but will also get 2 others from the feed store just incase. They are sprouting right now. I do have 1 question. I was always told when you hold the tomato in your hand and it falls off on it's own that's when it's time to pick them. Question, So when they fall off in my hand should I try cutting the rest?

  6. Hey, nice video! A tip to add for Southern California gardeners, or anyone who might be dealing with that insanely powerful mid day sun and some equally powerful wind: harden off your plants in the shade and start by leaving them out only for an hour or two hours per day in the morning or evening. Direct sun around here will kill your babies in less than 30 minutes, so please consider you local conditions. Happy growing!
