  1. If your store offers the option of curbside pickup, that helps if you can't go with a friend or family member. You can stay safe in your car and an employee will being it to you. It's great!

  2. I've been trained in situational awareness, and personal security. The only time I leave home without my "personal protection" is if I'm on a stretcher, heaven forbid. I strongly believe in varying my routes, and the stores I shop at. We're blessed with a number of supermarkets in my area.
As I'm a widow, and I live alone, I always let my adult daughter know whe I'm going out, and when I'm safely back home.
One other thing, I live in a townhome development, so everyone on my street, we keep an eye out for our neighbors, it's the best feature of the neighborhood.

  3. We have a Walmart in our small town. I've always felt a bit uneasy in the parking lot (I park as close to the door as possible) and when shopping for groceries. I won't go there without my husband and we go during daylight hours. It makes it a little tough in winter when we only 5 hours of daylight lol.

  4. I love my Aldi but I received a comment from my checker asking if my items were a Noah’s ark situation. It was none of his business but I told him no this is for a food pantry.

  5. Folks that want to buy items in bulk can simply order case online? Truly, I would be pissed off too! Stores will start limiting items "2 per costumer " only !

  6. I have thought that for a long time. Women do not be out alone, esp if you are older. You never know what someone will do. I unfortunately have to do this in a big city.

  7. I don't have a choice but to shop alone. I stay aware of my surroundings and the time of day I do my shopping. I don't get a lot of items at a time. Only the essentials.

  8. Or daughter in law and son have 8 children. She mostly pushes around two carts loaded. I will warn her. Our son does about half of the shopping but neither of them realized these criminal times.

  9. I always tell my elderly mom and dad that one needs to put groceries in the car and the other one keep an eye on the surroundings. I used to work at a prison 12 years ago and I am very aware of my surroundings now. People need to get off their phones when they are out and look around. If prices continue to go up crime will also. Even when you get home be careful

  10. While driving, if you feel someone is following you…just go around the block or make a U turn on a country road. If they still follow…drive to the local police dept/do not continue to drive home.

  11. Stay off your cell phone while out in public look for all exits when you go inside a buisness get a fast plan.Go out in buddy system.Times have changed and carry "something and know how to use it in defense".my daughter and grandson were followed buy a guy n lady in a clothing store and she said something loud and they ran out of store.and get a couple shopping carts split list and be grayman if going for preps

  12. I was driving with my two little ones 12 and 9 just picking up some school stuff and on our way home there were two men. The first was throwing rocks at people's windshields, then the second was about 10 feet down from him trying to get people to slow down or stop. It was so weird and I felt really scared. We live in a small town maybe 7,000 people in our district. They threw a rock at the lady's car in front of me but didn't bother with mine I don't know if its because I made eye contact or what. When I got home I told my husband and he said what was the make and model of the car in front of you. I said idk a new one. He's a mechanic so he laughed and said they were probably looking to rob people but your car is so old and beat up they thought it wasn't worth the rock.
