I tried the Botanium self-watering planter and i really like it! it uses soil-less growing technology and you can grow herbs and vegetables super easily. And it has a minimalist design that looks good.

Using only these would totally solve my constant fungus gnat problem and i wouldn’t need to care about watering because it waters itself every 3 hours 🙂

The only setback i had was that i grew this during the summers worst heatwave. The temperature in my studio was closer to 30ºC (86ºF) so that plus the heat from my grow light made the leaves curl. But it was only cosmetic and it still produced a lot of chilies. And towards the end the new leaves started to look more normal so it should recover completely during winter.

  1. I grew this during the summers worst heatwave so the temperature in my studio was closer to 30ºC (86ºF) so that plus the heat from my grow light made the leaves curl. Luckily it was only visual and the plant produced a lot of chilies 🙂

  2. Hi I just read your description. I used to have a big fungus gnat problem with my indoor orchids but I bought a Pinguicula agnata 'Red Leaf' from Curious Plant and it caught all of them in 2 weeks. I am sure other types of ping's or companies would work too, I have just had great experiences with Curious Plant with 2 separate orders.

  3. When watering your grow light plants, you don't look like you soak your plants until water run out the bottom. What's your method of determining how much water a plant needs?
