We have a coop that was built in our old milk barn. We have a “hallway” made with chicken wire. The babies grow up seeing the big birds and the big birds seem to acclimate to them usually with no problems. If they don’t go outside, there is another safe large area for the big birds. It was open for the cows but now we have a wall of hardware cloth and a conglomeration of fencing that protects them.
Dating does cause a lot of nerves

Hey girl, love the video. I HAVE to tell you this…we we're driving the back roads going somewhere yesterday. FORRESTED ACRES ARE BEING OFFERED FOR SALE AT $20,000. EACH in central Arkansas. 10 acre lots for $200,000. I hope people understand it will NOT bring that much, not even 1/8 of that price if they 'give up' and go back to the city. Oh my.
I love the tips and the adopted girls! We have an assortment of just 4 young hens here, but a few of your new girls look like they're related to a couple of mine. LOL (Leghorn and ISA Brown) I'm still such a newby to being a chicken momma – but your tip on putting new birds in the coop when it's dark is a good idea. If/When we get one or two more, we will introduce them this way, I think.
