Yes very good point! Something similar happened to eucalptus last year also… was very difficult to find seeds for them! Reply
Seeds from your garden are better conditioned for your environment.
Another reason is seeds you save are acclimated to your climate.
This fall I started saving way more seeds than I possibly need “just in case”.
