I must say I've been binge watching and just soaking up all the knowledge and tips Ben! Thank you for all you and (Rosie) put into your channel and to your family for allowing us to spend so much time with you. 🙂 I recently planted some herbs along the sides of my tomato bed. I chose several and I must say the Lemon Thyme, and the peppermint are a couple strong favorites right now. I haven't even eaten any yet but the scent is simply intoxicating. I also purchased some Monarda, chives, another type of Thyme, and some spearmint and even Lavender. Oddly enough I've never cared for the scent of lavender, but it was such a lovely plant, I couldn't resist and the scent is supposed to help keep the "baddies" at bay. I live in Central (NW Florida) and am very enthusiastic about gardening (both veg and flower). Thank you, thank you, thank you again. I am still working out who is my favorite gardener on your channel though, you or Rosie… :). P.S. I also plan to get your garden planner so I can "Crack on with it " in a bit more organized way. God bless you and yours Ben and happy gardening!
Hello there! I’m Makayla Anderson, a newbie gardener and I’ve recently posted a video on how to start seedlings! I’d love it if you gave it a watch and appreciate any and all feedback! https://youtu.be/nWHpX3yu2Dc
Any tips on lessening the damage from Leafhoppers for herbs? I live in Leeds and they're everywhere! They're always turning my luscious green herb leaves into a yellow/brown mottled mess. Most info on them suggests that they are most prevalent in the US but they are definitely present here in the UK.
Hi Ben. Do you live in the U.K.? What is your climate like? Your garden looks amazing!
When you say grocery store, are you referring to garden center herb pots as well? Should all herb containers purchased be handled in the same manner?
Wish I could grow rosemary and thyme throughout the year. It freezes outside and inside I can't keep it going. Just a note about oregano; it can be invasive similar to mint. It is one hardy herb and it keeps appearing in the flower bed. Also chives, have the garlic chives all over the asparagus. I like the winter interest of the flower heads, but think I will need to trim them.
What variety of oregano has a pungent flavor?
Great video, have to start one of these beds.
Any advice on dill
Thanks for the grocery store herbs idea. I found organic pots with oodles of plants and had fun dividing them. Every tomato is going to get their own basil or thyme companion now.
Just wondering where you get the garden bed please? Thanks
I always have it around my mauth.my own mother told me I got herpes from her.but herbs from Dr emuakhe all of a sudden clear the difference and never experienced it again…
Really enjoying video's. Herb garden was interesting. I have herbs all over the place. Nice idea.
You are apparently lucky enough to live in an area without gophers, moles, etc. I built my first raised beds, only to have subterranean creatures move in from below. They did not like potatoes, so much so that they shoved them to the surface to get rid of them. I had to empty the beds and add hardware clothe (wire mesh) at the bottom, which is much easier to do before you place the bed rather than later. You should always advise people about gopher-proofing your raised beds. Other than that, thanks for your videos, very helpful.
Thank you!
Hi Ben do these herbs need any protection to get them through the winter? What about herbs grown in plastic planters? Thanks
Would love a video on what time of year to be planting the various herbs and how to keep them throughh the winter
Where can you buy pallet collars at?
Best channel on YouTube
It still amazes me that i can grow "western" herbs here, in a huge coastal tropical city. Thyme, rosemary oregano and mints are thriving here, with the right treatment. They grow easily on higher altitude, but for coastal regions you need to avoid them from direct sunshine. So i put them under the tree or next to a wall.
By the way i just found your channel and love it, thank you so much Ben.
I’m a beginner gardener and your channel has been SO helpful!!!! Thank you!
Blimey, 40 euros? I live in the middle of Andalucia and the soil and plants would not cost 10.euros.
Hey, Ben! I just started a 4'x4' raised bed this year and will be planting out my herbs in 1/2 of it. The other half has already been planted in multiplying onions. These little gems are not only tasty, but produce dramatically. Plant one bulb or plant and in a few months, you have a clump of tasty bulbs and leaves.

How do you grow a herb garden in January?
Thanks Ben! Did you leave all the herbs in their pot like you did the mint? I didn’t see you take away any pots, so is it best to leave them in even when transferring to the raise bed?
Thank you! When is the best time of year to set up your herb garden? Could I start preparing the herbs now or is it best to wait til it gets warmer?
I love this! I think I can get to it this year.
Love the video and given me the boost I needed going to do a herb garden so if to the shops soon I go once again many thanks
Planting the mint bunches in a pot! As y’all would say; “Brilliant!”.
