  1. Again your timing is perfect. I picked up my washer yesterday.
I know it may be an extra step but I like to put my greens on a straining table before the spinner. You can clean all weeds and unwanted matter as well before spin. Just a thought as the greens seem to stay fresh in bag for longer.
Thank you for all that you do Curtis!

  2. I still use the hand spinner, for my volume it works for me. the time consuming thing for me is separating the sunflower shells from the greens, they both float in the tub.
    thanks

  3. this is.coming at a time when I am putting my urban garden together. please May you post Mikes details on this course. I have to see and learn from his video since I do everything by myself. shopping for the spinner right now and my lettuce is 2 weeks shy to plant.

  4. Deffinatly taking his course when I find I need a big spinner. He is such a great person for giving info like this out to the public practically for free. It's people like you guys that make people like me not want to stop following there dreams, addapting and trying their hardest. Keep crushing it.

  5. I'm wondering about the bpa factor. Everyone is concerned about bpa free things and most of the gardeners I see on line use basic rubbermade trash cans and totes for washing and storing. Is this not a concern?

  6. Curtis, I love the videos and I am seriously working hard to make the transition to farming microgreens as approach retirement. Do you wash your microgreens prior to packages? Do they go through the bubbler and the giant salad spinner? Thanks again.

  7. Hecka sweet upgrade, great fabri-cobbling! Might want to deburr those holes, looks like lil bits of plastic are ready to mingle with the greens… kinda shady on the electrical, too…

  8. The open top could be a real hazard in a damp environment with water dripping onto the electrics. I think some sort of electrical safety cut out would be an accessory that would be essential. A for ingenuity, not so much for safety. Love your videos.

  9. I've been looking at converting an old washer I have for a spinner. Seems like a lot of hassle and I'm not sure how much life it has left in it. I'm thinking I might get a Panda spin dryer for ~150 and a AC motor variable speed switch and try that instead. Much smaller capacity at 22lbs but I don't do too much yet. The basket in the Panda is stainless and is gravity drain. It spins at 3200 rpm, which is way too fast. I think commercial spinners spin at around 500 rpm, hence the switch which is about 20 on ebay.

    edit: said dryer, meant washer
