I've been reading The Marvelous Pigness of Pigs and I am definitely committing to buying local sustainable meat which is much easier than I imagined.
I had a great basil year too and made lots of pesto then froze in small canning jars. Just another idea for excess. I actually gave them out with roasted cherry tomatoes as gifts to friends
lOVE YOUR NEW HAIR COLOR! : )
Liked and commented for algorithm.
Always a joy to watch! Blessings!
make pesto's as gifts also
Hi 🙂 Last year you had a Video about your MUST GROW heirloom varieties in your garden, LOVED it 🙂 Would you do similar video this year? Do you have any info would be there a restock on Baker Creek seeds I wrote them, no answer. There are some varieties that I am interested in and they are out of stock. When should we buy seeds for next season any advice on that? Thank you 🙂
I like to see how you blanch and freeze banana leaves and how you use them. I have lots of banana trees.
Just wanted to thank you for the info on peppers. I grow peppers in containers and like to bring them in for winter to enjoy but never realized, although it makes complete sense, that mace was a possibility if they dried. Thank you so much for that bit of advice!
Jess, 47° is cold enough. I tell you what I would like; We are just not going to have a lot of money for gifts this year. I do have basil, rosemary, sage, oregano to give. I need ideas of food type items. I'm thinking breads, muffins, etc. I see you did a video on elderberry syrup. Im looking so forward to go through this season with you! Pam
Ok I’ve been behind on videos so if this is mentioned already please point me in the right direction.
Loofahs. How did your growing experience go? I live in Conway and have yet to pick mine but they did really well. I had a lot of squash bugs but it didn’t affect the fruit (Praise the Lord).
Picked our last harvest yesterday
Yes, it's ok to feel sad :). And it's ok to be pumped about the holidays haha. About the sadness, maybe turn it into a thing where you really catharsis the shit out of it. With a movie or a book or some music. And so, whenever the no-garden-sadness turns go you decide "ok, tonight I will sit down with x without distractions so I can unload this" . Which, of course, is also än amazingly enjoyable experience! Regaedless it's so important to honor the emotions that are there. But you seem to be in a really good place, which is cool to see 🙂 cheers and happy fall!
those are the orange flame marigolds from baker creek!!! I got them myself for my first garden this past spring
You just need to wear a scarf And something with long sleeves that also closes in the front.
I have not watched in a minute i just had a new baby a lot was going on but still have my support love your channel.
You can make Salvadoran tamales with the banana leaves.
❤️ I love watching these videos from previous years watching you harvest so much amazing food. As well as watching n how much your garden has changed from all the tours!
My family gets butcher box. Definitely recommend it.
Oh no, that accidentally macing yourselves is definitely something to tell the grandkids as a think things through story!
Hi Jess you can use any fresh herbs and blitz them up in a food processor with a drop of water then take the mixture and put them into ice cube trays and freeze them. After they are fully frozen you can pop them into a ziplock bags and use them whenever you need for your recipes… also you can do a combination by blitzing onions, garlic and other stuff into the fresh herb mixtures before blitzing them in a food processor. I make homemade sofritto by blending cilantro, onion, garlic and green bell pepper.. blitz it up .. put it into the ice cube trays and freeze them up.. once frozen i put them into my ziplock bags and leave them in the freezer until i need them for my recipes. Many blessings to you and your family.. LOVE your garden tours xx
I'm wondering is there anything wrong with aluminum foil that I should know is there something you should should know that you shouldn't cook with it or anything like that Miss just because you mentioned in your blog that you use banana leaves instead is that just out of preference or is that because there's something wrong with using it if there is could you please let us know God bless you and thank you so much for the awesome video or maybe it is a movie you know any way God bless for my family to yours thank you so much
