  1. good advice..we added beekeeping to all the other homestead activities we manage and found out that we underestimated how much time that would take..we managed but we were always playing catch-up somewhere else.

  2. i grew a tomatillo plant, one plant it went crazy.  it had hundreds, i mean hundreds of tomatillos.  i never got to eat one of them, chipmunks LOVE them.

  3. Good vid, J!
This year I tried some new things, and lessons learned, hehe..
One of the things I tried was to have two growings of peas and beans sowed 3 weeks apart. Well, the last planting didn`t make it to ripening with any of the two vegs. Our summer is to short, and the "eye" of planting time in the spring is to small for this type of gardening. Your pea plants are still growing very well!

However I had some positive learnings as well. The lettuce did very well with many sowings.
Not a wonder you nearly fell on your back when your wife suggested moving to the country side. There are many beautiful places in Germany out in the districts. Hope you find something that suits your whole family.

    All the best,
    Halvor.

  4. Nice job with the wall mate. Your time is worth a lot if I do anything here on the house even if I was to take a day of work to do it I would save 4 days wagers just because of the cost of stuff here. Hope it all comes good and you get your homestead. I would love that too.
    Great stuff.

  5. Great advice.  I have been keeping a daily garden journal for almost two years now.  Last years is great for temperatures and planting times.  It also gives me a good idea of actually how long it takes for food to come from the planting.  I have many challenges with my garden and this has helped me tremendously.

  6. Our Ground cherries took over the bed they popped up in so had to be removed.. Did manage to get a good harvest from them but the galangal it was smothering is far more valuable to us food wise..
How did the corn go? Did you manage to get a harvest from it ?
Am with you on time management.. Am so far behind jobs & projects that the garden is suffering..
Is that your Daughters room at the start? Looks great 🙂
Cheers mate & all the best to you all..
