Ouu ok nice, I planted a few for my grandpa and one is about 17/18 ft tall, the head looks almost 2 feet across, probably 20” at least! He’s still standing I’m going to chop his head off and plant his babies next year with this method thank u very much

Try that in Manitoba, we have 100s of square miles of sunflowers growing. Your method is useless.

The key to keep squirrels and birds out of your garden……Feed them!!!! It works!!! I have an abundance of birds and squirrels in my yard and have a 4 hook bird feeder away from the garden and no problems!!! They even leave my sunflowers alone. I feed them black oil sunflower seeds, grape jelly, a suet. Its fun to watch them without them being a nuicance.

My wife and I aren't far from your store (we are in Macomb Township). Looking forward to having our entire garden from your seeds as the seasons go on. Garlic will be next on our list!!
Just an FYI, you don't have to hang and dry out the entire flowerheads. You can actually clip the head off and massage all the seeds out and just spread them out somewhere to dry and just discard the fresh head. Either way will work just fine.
Just watched this 9/26/21 I grew big Russian Mammoth sunflowers this year. Had to use 3/4 conduit 1 and a 1/2 stick each. Mine were 12’ each 4 of them a bunch of 10 footers also .. my 12 feet are a lot higher than his 12 footers . Any way I like the amish way to dry them

Are there any uses of the sunflower after you take the seeds out?
Would you be able to recommend a way to shell the sunflower seeds once they are harvested? A mechanical process would be best for those of us who would like to harvest a large amount of shelled seeds for year round consumption. Thanks!
