Hi James, I would like to know if I can use "Pine wood chips" in the garden and mulch around my nre fruit tree. I knew that pine wood chips is acidic so, I am not so sure if I can use it in the garden or mulch my fruit tree.

Do I have to wait until the chips age or can I spread them on my vegetable garden fresh as long as I just layer on top and not dig them in. Just got my first humongous load of chips

Have you heard of chipdrop? Local arborists can reference that to drop a load of chips at your house for free! Just got my first drop this morning!!

Hi Guys. I've recently cut down a few Pine Trees in my backyard and converted them into Mulch. Its been a few days and there is a bit of mold growing on the mulch. Can I still use the mulch around my Fruit Trees?. Will I still be able to use this mulch in say a months time?
Are eucalyptus trees bad to use in your garden as shade trees? I had someone tell me that its toxic to my other trees. And it drops lots of leaves which I am sure by what you said doesn't matter.
Half of my garden has wood chips and the other has hay on top. I can say that wood chips are better for sure. Maybe if I had chopped the hay up somehow it would be better but it breaks down very slowly.
So you talking about the method being the most important things and you mention layering. I was hoping that in the video You would explain this process I am wanting to have woodchips on a vegetable garden but I don’t plan to create A food forest with trees at this stage any tips/advice please?

My neighbor started a small tree service business and I just got my first load Thursday. My question is I have it in a pile about 12'x5' it's already warm and in the cold morning steamed when I poked the fork in. Do you put it on the grow spaces now or let the pile decay and turn it a every once in a while for a few months?

JAMES, I have two black walnuts on garden’s edge. Last year, year one of the garden as beginning food forest. I grew only stuff the juglan doesn’t affect. I learn mushroom can detoxify juglan. Is it the microrhizo relationship ? Can I continue to grow the walnuts and hope my wood chips will foster compatibility. I’ve got 4 trees coming. Will need some know how. Thanks for your great show!
How do you start? Cardboard boxes? Wet them. And then just the wood chips? Any leaves or grass clipping?
Enjoy your knowledge.I am not a gardener, I’m a tree farmer in central Jersey. Building my first hugelkulture bed to plant on tree seedlings into bigger transplants for out in the fields. Apparently I have experience the benefits of this process several years ago. Had tilled, and mixed in horse manure with a covering of wood chips over my seedlings. Forgot about them for a year and when I finally checked on the seedlings. They literally exploded!!! Looking forward to plant the seedlings very soon. Thanks again for your knowledge and accomplishments.
Love wood chips..one issue I have had is pill bugs are THRIVING and eating the roots of things I put in the garden. Any ideas?
