VIDEO: How to Grow Lemongrass and Propagate it FOREVER

The lemongrass plant is extremely easy to grow, flavorful, and aromatic. It’s the perfect addition to your herb garden. Replanting lemongrass can be done when harvesting by simply snapping off the bottom root and a small section of the stem, while still preserving the rest of the lemongrass for use in the kitchen.

  1. I've had mine for 4 years and have never harvested; just trim it all the way back every year (didn't know anything about it until now). Can I still harvest now or should I just let it be? It's in the ground now and over 5' tall. It also has seed husks at the top (don't know what they're called)

  2. Im looking to grow something to repeal mosquitoes. Ive seen lemongrass works but cant find any info on the few channels I trust. If you have one, can you link if possible? thank you✌❤

  3. Awesome brother. Seldom is the first video exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to get you a picture or video of my Lemongrass plant. I've transformed a drier drum to a firepit, to a beautifully patinaed pot for my lemongrass plant and it has become ENORMOUS. Here to learn how to propagate it here in Florida. Keep it up!

  4. Cymbopogon flexosus is not smaller, maybe in template climates it doesn't grow too much because stalks are thinner but don't get confused, in tropical climates it becomes a huge gigantic grass, also in a few years stalks grows so close together that they become like a wide trunk that you'll need a chainsaw to remove it, so if you live in a tropical climate just grow the one with thick succulent stalks, it's more aromatic, sweeter, and stays low. Also the Cymbopogon flexosus reproduces by seed so it can become invasive. Cymbopogon citratus doesn't produce seeds or runners so it easier to control and stays in small bunches.

  5. I planted two bits of lemon grass from the super and they are growing really well. I also planted a lot of seeds even though I read that it was harder to grow and they grew too so I have lots of it growing in my polytunnel. It’s starting to get quite cold in the uk now so hope it won’t all die off. Love your videos. Thank you and much love. ❤️

  6. I live in South Carolina, USA…I have a current lemongrass cluster that stands over 4 foot tall and over six feet wide…love this plant…I use it as a substitute for lemons in my tea, put it in my Thai food, as well as a dry herb sprinkle in almost all my meats
