You won’t believe how easy it is to take a cup of soybeans and turn it into a block of tofu! And you won’t believe how delicious homemade tofu is, especially when you eat it fresh! All you need is three ingredients….soybeans….lemon juice, either fresh or reconstituted, and water.

For variation, the finished tofu could be soaked (better boiled then leave to cool in the spice water) in turmeric – garlickz ground coriander -salt water to add some natural colour and flavour, then it will become the yellow tofu that we eat daily down here, greetings from Bandung (happend to be raised in a village thats famous for its yellow tofu)

  3. Great demonstration. I haven't tried using it myself (yet!), but I've read that the leftover whey/water from the pressing stage can be used like aquafaba from canned chickpeas.

    Oh and it just happens that I made a batch of okara waffles for my children's lunch today. Mix the okara with some flour, eggs, milk, cinnamon and sugar (optional), before cooking in a waffle iron. So tasty!
