You ALWAYS inspire me Jay! I love what you are doing with the homestead brother! I was wondering how you are doing and how your back is getting along, take it easy and don't push it too hard. You are I are so much alike when it comes to saving and reusing the resources that we are given to work with…very nice plans. ~Wayne
you know that white coating juniper berries have? well it is a natural yeast. good to have junipers around. you could make some bread or some gin! lol
Nice update, Jay!
Like your plans for the garden, -and yes it`s with no doubt a hazelnut tree you got there. You can make som new hazel trees as well, by air layering some branches. I remember we often made bows, arrows, fish traps, and fishing rods of hazel canes. They also make good canes for your beans and heavy flowers. So, they produce more than just nuts. ๐
Best regards, Halvor.
Here is some good videos on this hazel theme. On of them shows how to layer them.

That site has a lot of promise. Did someone used to live in that building? How long ago did someone garden there? It sounds like you are planning to terrace it?
Jay, the terraced beds are going to look great in that space. I look forward to seeing how things develop. Thanks for the update.

There is great promise in your homestead Jay ol' buddy, lotsa work but nothin' ya can't handle easy,….juniper berries, never knew they were edible until now, wait a second, coupla months ago Justin over in Arizona told us all, plum trees, apple tree, hazelnut? Lookin' for to seeing your project unfold before our eyes good buddy!
btw, that li'l sapling at the corner of that green shed, that looks like a young fresno, fresno, not sure, but i think in english its a mountain ash, gonna wiki it.
You are doing a very good job, Jay. The little building is looking good, too.
Hi, this will be a very interesting project to watch develop. Thanks for sharing
It is a beautiful site. I think you should build a giant tipi and freak out the Ordnungsamt.
Is good to see you have some jobbies on the go Jay ๐
The house looks much better without the ivy..
Its coming on Ill be following your progress. Oh just had the man here about my basement with 10 fire fighters and a big pump. Great Sunday morning lol.
The fire fighters have a pump and not much else to do maybe come to look lol.
Funny they conned 1 lane of the road outside my house. I should have filmed it and put it up. but they do send them to pump out stuff when flooded. Crazy thing is we live on a hill and I thought the last of my problems would be a flooded basement.. Kids loved it.

Nice job Jay, enjoying your work and updates.
