Thank you for pointing me in the direction of halbarnrabbitry14's channel. This gives me a lot of hope. I don't want to push my son into something that he doesn't want to do, but I grew up in 4H. Since I am too old to be a member, I've volunteered, and I know that as a youth, I learned so much. Things like this were so important to me and since I was in 4H, I've watched to program seem to die. Where once they had to put up tents to hold all of the animals… Now, the barns are so empty.
Right. It seems that the more that you are in the city, it seems like learning things like that is a luxury thing. I've never lived outside of the city. My parents couldn't afford to keep more than two cats and I got a guinea pig when I had cash of my own. However 4H found people who were willing to let me use their lands and animals and you can bet your britches that I can drive a team, ride, and teach a green broke horse.
