I save the banana peels to make banana vinegar.. When the peels have lost their sugar, we throw them in the compostbin in the backyard.
We do break the eggshells, but we don't dry them in a oven or dehydrator..
i feel the spotlight on me at the banana tea! maby blend them aswell and add to the water?
How often can this smoothie be applied?
I treat my banana peels like egg shells. Dry them in the sun then grind them up in a coffee grinder to fed the soil & worms that way

Hey, is there any use for chicken carcasses? Like the sort you get left over from making your own bone broth – I make mine with no added salt so that isn’t an issue. The internet seems to think they’ll draw pests if I compost them, but it feels wasteful to just bin them?
This is why i do mower composting along with garden ducks.

Can i sprinkle egg shell powder in the soil if i dont have any compost bin or this kind of thing to breakdown egg shells.
Will this egg shell powder cause any disease while breaking down in soil ?

Banana peels are also supposed to be good for rubbing on warts to get rid of them.
If you put the banana peels under about an inch of soil they attract lady bugs that eat bad pests in the garden. You can also dry these hard and ground into a powder to add to watering or just hand spreading on the plants. before watering. I used my egg shells dried and powdered for my homemade dog food for my dogs. I kept them in the fridge in a shaker when cooking for my pets.
I have pet fish, and when I was a starter they would die off pretty fast 🙁
Better to bury them in the garden than flushing them down the toilet. The aquarium water is rich in nutrients so I highly recommend aquarium owners using their old tank water for gardening when water changing

Eggshells are primarely for birds. At their turn they eat insects.
Instead of a old fashion compost bin I’ll put the food scraps in sold pool and let my chickens do the work buy turning the compost. The also dedicate in the compost which it seams to be ready in a week or 2

3 years ago I started a simple composting in back yard but the yellow jackets got into it….and I couldn’t risk being stung….so I abandoned it. Master Gardeners office said just buy compost. I also was unwilling to use a chemical of course.

All my kitchen scraps go in a hole in the ground or the compost bin. My primary goal is to reduce the waste going to the landfill. I don’t want to be bothered with chopping, soaking, etc. because Mother Nature can handle that just fine. Thank you for the video.
We put banana peels in a plastic bottle with some water and a small flap above water level…hang them in a tree and it attracts fruit flies/flies and other fruit damaging insects (aphids included). A couple drops of dish washing detergent in the wakes the bugs drown pretty quick.

I just throw all 3 in the bin. Not the compost, not the worm farm, just the regular bin.
The compost is down the bottom of the yard, and I cbf walking there for coffee grounds or egg shells. Managing a compost bin is a hassle.
Bokashi seems like too much work too, and you have to keep buying the expensive barley with bacteria.
Compost at the store is $3 for 1m^3, why would I waste my time on composting when it's that cheap to buy it from someone else?
They're using all the green waste I put in the bin purchased from council to make the compost anyway, and this way I'm supporting the council to be able to give back to the community..
And no matter what the decomposition of all that material is releasing methane so all that green waste is always bad for the atmosphere.
