  2. Pecan pie easiest and best recipe. Purchase a container of Karo syrup and make the recipe on the jar. Sooo good. Hint: Allow it to bake until it is boiling in the center prior to removing from the oven. Eat it!

  3. I would like to know how close to the dripline of a pecan we can grow others fruit tree wich are not known to be specificaly juglone-tolerant.

I read that pecan root system width
is four or more times as wide as the tree canopy.

Do you think I'll be able to grow another tree just next after the dripline?

I would like to grow a couple of pecan in my garden but it would be a problem if 4times+ the canopy area will not be available for others crops because of juglone, cause I won't have enough space

(4times more width means an area of 16times the space taken by 1pecan!)

  4. Toss the pecans in a frying pan with real butter till butter is bubbly on medium low heat. Than add light or dark brown sugar stirring allowing the sugar to clump on the pecans…. cool on a plate and serve. Nothing like em. Kindest Regards…

  5. Did you ever make a pecan pie? Native Southerner here. Not only is the pie delicious, you should try butter pecan ice cream as well. (I'm told that's not a thing outside of the U.S. If so, you're in for a treat.) 🙂

  6. Hello Mark, Your right, here in the USA the climates mostly won't grow Pecans, but here in Arkansas, USA we have a huge peacan tree in our yard (great shade) too large to pick the nuts until late fall. We give 5 gallon buckets full away and keep a couple bushel basket full for ourselves. I discovered some new young seedling pecan trees came up from seeds I babied them 6 of them for 5 years, they are now fruiting and I've fallen in love with them. Jessie USA

  9. Got one of these in my backyard. It's HUGE. So. Many. Nuts. Feeds all the damn squirrels. They also produce a long seedlike structure that they drop in massive quantities. They're difficult to pick up. Damn whoever planted this.

  10. Pecan Pie
    Recipe
    1 1/2 cups Karo (white)

    3/4 cups of granulated sugar

    3 eggs (beat slightly)

    1 1/2 Tablespoons Flour

    3/4 Tablespoons Butter (melted)

1 1/2 Cups of Pecans (cut up)

    1 1/2 Teaspoons of Vanilla

Combine the above ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Pour in two pie shells and bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes or until light brown on top. Don’t over cook it or it will be too dry.
