Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

  1. My youngest son and I watched this live as it clicked over to 100,000 and as it did Luke punched the air and yelled out YES… It was an exciting and proud moment. Thank you, everyone, for helping to make this happen as you can see it means a ton to me! Cheers 🙂

  2. I've been inspired to start a garden in our backyard, one for fresh fruit and veg but also so my 14 month old can experience growing food whilst she grows. Thank you

  3. Very well deserved Mark! I've always appreciated your content & I know how much time editing takes away from everything else you could be doing. Congratulations my friend. Thank you for sharing your info & being a source of inspiration

  4. Great job man! I love watching our videos. Can you please do a video on pest control on a larger garden scale versus a very small home garden? This year we ranked things up and expanded a lot which means needing to learn to manage pests on a larger scale. Would love to learn how you do it. Thank you.

  5. Well done Mate…we are one of the 101 K viewers..love your work..:)…oh by the way…it looks like your in the Tropics…around Caloundra/Brissy area is it..??…looks a humid warm area..:)
