Butternut squash I dont think starts green… pretty sure I remember it being beige as a baby. Something stole my solitary squash just before harvest and I have never grown it since lol
Miah my biggest mission as of right now for the next growing season for "pineapple ground cherries" is to acquire the seeds or plants!! And if you named the hens after the states, with them all looking the same, I'm thinking it would end in just saying………………..Here is the UNITED STATES flock!! Lol. Just saying!

Love your shows! Think I have missed the "live" once again….maybe this be a strange question but maybe one you can reply to…do you have any issues with rats…it seems like they are always coming around the chickens…and the chickens must be too close to the house for comfort…mama rat had babies! UGH! Got most of them…was wondering does your cats take care of that problem? Was thinking about getting a farm cat…the last one we had was a good mouser but stayed away from the rats…and, at this time, have a dog that does not appreciate cats…
Hey guys! My first comment on your channel (which I love!) but when people talk about 'GORILLA gardening', they are actually referring to the concept of GUERILLA (Spanish phrase) referring to actions or activities performed in an impromptu way, often without authorization.
As part of a 9th grade class at my daughter's Catholic high school in Minnesota, they watched a TED talk about an African American man in L.A. who got fed up with vacant lots and chronic illnesses in his community and he started gardening on random plots of land (aka guerrilla gardening). It's worth the 5-10 minutes to watch the talk for sure!
It inspired us, as a family, to build 4 raised beds on prime front yard corner yard with lots of sun. We've had neighbors stop and say 'thank you' and how much they love what we're doing 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration!
I have never considered myself much of a gardener but have been growing veggies for the last year,, had some failures but plenty successes and now planning an even bigger garden for Spring . So never give up
Ground cherries will fall off the plant when they are ripe, hence the name. You harvest them on the ground (and then end up with a ton of volunteers the next year). I have my first butternut squashes growing. Yes, they green.
We have been getting very bad thunder and lightning storms lots of rain and my garden is loving it would you please be able to check out my garden videos and give me a few pointers from Canada here ❤
MIAH….Carolina in My Mind….now THAT'S the BEST SONG about a state! And Take Me Home Country Roads….even mentions the Blue Ridge Mountains (which are in NC)…so boom. 🙂

Texas has the best and most songs about it. West Virginia song is okay, too.
