Poinsettias are given as gifts around the holidays because of their beautiful green and red colors, however many people throw them out shortly after the holidays. In this episode we will be showing you how to grow them year round as a house plant, and how to make them turn back into their red and green color just in time for the holidays.

Are you adding dirt?
I have a question, can I use a 5- 10-5 for the fertilizer. I would love to grow my poinsettia, the way you have shown us on your channel.
My beautiful beautiful Poinsettia! It appears I’ve done everything wrong. I water it daily…it’s in the same size pot and I haven’t trimmed it. It’s September, is there any hope?
I bought 12 ponsiettas on Thanksgiving last yr and the last one just died yesterday. I couldn't believe it lasted so long. Imma do the same this yr
If it's already in big plantar then in that case,do I need to change into another bigger one?
Thank you! So helpful
So I just got my plant. It was a gift. First plant I’ve ever owned. I’m excited. Now, if I just got my plant this week and it’s December where do I start as far as fertilizer? Do I start with the fertilizer that is higher in nitrogen or phosphorus?
So water every 7 days?
Wish me luck! Lol hoping this is the issue, we got ours on Thanks giving
How often do you fertilize?
How interesting. I’ve learned a lot. Thank You for sharing this information. I have been given a large pot containing several poinsettias of red and white (5 or 6). It’s gorgeous but I’m not sure what to do after Christmas …
I'm in Florida and I bought a large pink poinsettia this year. I live in a RV and this plant is too large to bring inside. I currently have it on my patio. We will be traveling next year, likely from May to October. I am able to leave my poinsettia on our lot, but there will be no one to care for it. It can get the rain, but the temperatures will be quite high over the summer. Should I leave it in a pot, or put it in the ground?
All new info for me. Thanks.
My poinsettia barely has any leaves left but the stems are living. Can I get it to grow? How do I do the pruning step then? Note—little green leaves are growing.
FINALLY ! Someone who makes sure we know what to feed the poor things and even understands the idiosyncratic lighting requirements and adaptations !
It's just something you can only do once a year?
Thank you for the video, it was very informative!
What if you have a white poinsettia? I actually really like the white color and want to keep it that way. Would anything change?
Would be easier with subtitles.
Had mine since last year it's beautiful just an ice cube
Do you treat a white pointsettia the same way as a red or is it treated differently to produce the white flowers next Christmas?
did not know the blooms needed to be cut off, i didnt but its still alive. lol i was gifted it on Christmas eve of 2019. i am curious if one could use a 3 gallon cloth air pruning pot.
Thank you. Excellent
what about calcium an epsomsalt
Great information thank you
Thank you for the video! We have salvaged one from last Christmas and it has thrived just on its own. But to get it to red again for Christmas is one question I had which you answered in great deal!! Thank you thank you thank you. You are awesome.
