VIDEO: Floral Arrangement Christmas Present for Mom
Not a gardening video, but more of a DIY type thing. My mom wanted two artificial floral arrangements for her house for Christmas. I create these two arrangements in this video.

Description:
We are keeping a video record of what we plant in our garden, where we plant it, and how much we harvest each year. We also raise chickens, quail, and fish. We are trying to become as self-sufficient as possible in our limited space. We live in a neighborhood. Our garden, fish, quail, and chicken space is about 3,000 square feet total. We wanted to lower our monthly grocery bill and to know where our food is coming from. We want to be able to rely on our own healthy, fresh, homegrown produce and less on processed and packaged food from stores.

We are sifting material that we gathered from the chicken run to amend the soil in the garlic bed.
We clean up a garden bed and plant garlic in it. I keep saying broccoli at the end of this video. I should be saying garlic. Guess I’m still focused on a broccoli harvest this year! Sorry about that! I know that the big white cloves I’m planting are not broccoli seed, lol!
We pick turnips and turnip greens and cook them up for lunch!
We pick lettuce, kale, onions, and carrots from the garden to make a fresh salad.
I am cleaning out the chicken coop and using the hay to mulch around the broccoli plants. Mulching and fertilizing at the same time.
I use the pine shaving bedding from our rabbit cage to mulch around the broccoli plants and fertilize them.
We were walking around the garden surveying the damage from the freeze the previous two nights. We discovered we have turnips about ready to pick!
It got well below freezing for two consecutive nights. We tried to winterize all our garden plants as well as possible. This video shows how well the garden weathered the freeze.
The temperatures were supposed to drop into the low to mid twenties for two nights straight so we tried to protect our garden!
In this video we visit the chickens, gather the eggs, weigh the eggs, and enter the amount into our records.
We had a plant volunteer in one of our compost piles. We have been trying to identify the plant for a couple of weeks. We finally broke down and tasted it raw and think we have figured out what it is.
We are picking jalapeno peppers to use in our lunch. We also do a weigh in of how many peppers we have picked year to date.
Today we harvested and weighed our mustard greens that were pretty enough to eat. We pulled the rest and gave them to the chickens.
We are conducting an experiment in our garden. We want to see if mustard greens that are cut back to the ground will put out new growth. We are also planting a fresh section of mustard greens from seed in the same row. We want to see which greens will be ready to harvest first.
We take a walk around the garden on November 23, 2016 to make a video record of what we have planted.
Our lettuce was disappearing so we set up a camera to capture the culprit.
