  1. I have vinyl gutters to recycle and I was thinking of making a trench in the bottom of the 4 x 8 raised beds (16 in deep) I just constructed before I start filling them with compost and soil. what do you think?

  2. If you are working alone, I discovered placing a straight chair or masonry block next to the board for support, and put a spare board underneath to line up the corners. Wear gloves! I'm commenting with chewed up hands.

  3. If you don't mind a couple of tips, screwing on an angle of about 30 degrees, (starting farther from the end), provides far superior joining strength as: #1 the screw threads will begin to approach biting on side grain of the 2nd board instead of the weaker end grain of the wood, #2 the force on the installed screw will then approach a shear load, which is stronger. Plus starting farther from the end is not likely to split the wood. Robertson screws & an impact driver will make this build so much easier.

  4. I absolutely love this video! It inspired me so much that I decided to make my own video documenting how I built my beds. I'll be using my beds for starting my very own Urban Farm! Thanks for all your hard work and keep it up!
