@4GreenEarth2 You can take the cuttings in spring and fall called, semi-hardwood and hardwood cuttings. Look out for the video about hardwood cuttings within the next few weekh
Hi, Huw! I didn't think an apple seed would actually give fruit….or at least not true to the type it came from….. or am I wrong to think that….?
@suerowe53 sorry for the delay. Yes they do give fruit but not to the true species of the mother plant. Usally the fruit taste like a crab apple and 1 in 100 taste good. But it's a great tree to plants in a hedgerow for wild birds

Ah you have a 1 in 100 chance of getting a nice tasting apple and 1 in 1000 chance to get a great tasting apple, so there is no real way apart from planting thousands of seeds and waiting years to find out, I use them as rootstocks instead
