  1. Is the blue tubing food grade? I can find super cheap tubing too but last year I used some clear tubing from hardware store, maybe plumbing line, not sure, but I don't think it was food grade because we could taste something off. Please explain what this tubing is and where to get it. I didn't understand who we should ask for left over pieces. Also, I've been reading how much better 3/16 tubing is. Is this just for large sugarers who yield lots of sap and need long lines? Does it matter the diameter of tubing on trees that are about 4 feet wide? I plan to put three taps in again, connect them with t joints, and join them all to one exit line into our 5 gallon bottles. Thank you for any help. Great job!!

  2. You could have gotten better results for the same price or less by
calling a dealer such as myself and getting the correct tools and not
have killed the tree in the process. Tree is too small for 2 taps. Also if done with a proper spile, you wouldn't need the hook, which damages the tree and introduces bacteria.

  3. All if you fussing about him putting 2 taps in the tree. You something to do besides nit pick a you tube video. He was simply showing what could be done. Seems like people are always finding something to degrade someone that took the time to make a video.

  4. Jonathan Berube Please Note there are two taps for each bucket a total of 4 taps! IM pretty sure that's not a sugar maple looks more like a soft maple. This guys has no idea what he's doing the trees not even big enough for one tap. Kid stick to what your title says "Gardening"  STOP KILLING THE TREES. PLEASE REMOVE THIS VIDEO!!

  5. This is a joke, right? There are sooooo many things wrong with this and not a single good one. Everyone, do yourselves a favor and just do things the RIGHT way…not what Shaggy here is rambling about. Lol.

  6. great idea BUT…… next year if you tap that tree even once it WILL DIE!!! the smallest that you can tap a tree is 12 inches in diameter and that is once every few YEARS!!

  7. i bought seed from him and it was not right, he said i must have crossed up on the seed, next time i ordered armeian cukes, and they grew and i got lemon cukes.will buy no more seed from him.seed was wrong andit was my fault.

  8. Thanks for confirming my suspicion, I wanted to make a batch of beer with sap . This morning I grabbed what I had, a roll of 5/16 od 3/16 id food grade clear hose and a 4 gallon bucket w/ lid , drilled 9/32 holes in the tree and in the lid and the sap is flowing. Thanks again!
