Very interesting. I thought that the level would work like this…I like it. Just to clarify, the whole time you are working in one area…or the whole time you are setting off of one benchmark, the water container needs to be left in the same place, right? If you move the water container, the level will need re-calibrated (or you need to go back to the BM) and figure out your base measurement…correct? Very informative, I need to build one too. Thanks! Wayne
I'm going to make sure my husband watches this series, Jay. Thanks so much for the useful information.
I fully understand Jay, thank you for clearing it up. I think I'm going to make one of these for myself, very helpful for projects around the home and yard. Do you know if there is a limit to the length of hose to use before it affects the accuracy? Sorry for all the questions! *big smile*
Ok, very interesting. Thanks brother!
Very interesting. I wish we had done that before we made our raised beds. I am sending this to my husband so that he can use your idea when he makes a couple more raised beds. Thank you.
Thanks Jay…
Bit more accurate than the plain hose filled with water I have used in the past..
On the down side, I now have no excuse to get to work & tell the girls where they need to be digging 😉
Cheers
As another guy w/o a cameraman, love this 'story pole' stationary reservoir method.. thanks Jay.
does the water automatically fill the hose once you fill the tube ?
