This is an old Video, but I'm sure by now you have taken on Gary Pilarchik's method of adding boiling water to the mix before seeding, in order to kill any fungus knats. Something I picked up on a use, even though I haven't had that problem. Prevention netter than cure.

It is a good idea to sterilize your mix first before planting your seeds. It will destroy any insect eggs that are present. In this video there are many bugs crawling around in the pots.
I have 80 onion seed sprouts about 1/2 to 1 inch high. Have only one plant per cell. I covered them with plastic wrap to keep the moisture in. Using led grow light.
