  1. Cubic area = Length x Width x Depth.., eg…, 3mtrs x 1.5mtrs x 0.8mtrs (3 x 1.5 = 4.5.., 4.5 x .08= 3.6) Total capacity of this size (as calculated here) is 3.6 Cubic mtrs of soil. (basic maths and should only take seconds to work out) This works out in imperial aswell.., (just remember if you use feet or yards your answer will be in cubic feet or cubic yards) This is also how to work out volumes in aquariums/ponds tanks etc. (For a close enough calculation of a cylinder…, just length x width x .78) Birdies 900mm round planter would take 0.9mtr x 0.9mtr x.78 = about .8 cubic mtr of soil.
