  1. I like your salad bar. Looks real good, Jay. I wish I could help you out on that Yacon but I have never grown it. So sorry that things have been somewhat problematic for you. Looks like your plants are doing well, though and just about ready to be planted. Hope all works out well for you, my friend.

  2. could be too much fertilizer, fungus or sun scorch.  probably most likely fungus.  put a layer of mulch over the soil to prevent fungus from contacting the plant. water the soil, don't wet the plant.

  3. Hi Jay… Had a look at ours & noticed a yellowing & slight drying out on a few of the leaves half way up but the older leaves looked fine.. Do you have problem with root rot or fungal diseases there?  How long has it been in the pot now ?   Not to much help as to what it could be sorry mate..
Hope the small wicking beds work out for you & will be interesting to see how the ginger goes for you..
    Cheers sir..

  4. You may be behind in your garden Jay, but from the looks of this recent update, your garden's great, well, except your cauliflower gettin' plundered by bugs and kohlrabi next on their list, as for the Yacon, looking great,…er…that problem with the leaves, hope somebody helps ya out good buddy!!

  5. You have a lot of healthy looking plants. Love all the herbs & flowers that you will be putting into your gardens. Our temps in Wisconsin are way BELOW normal. I only have cold season crops in my gardens for now. I really like your wicking salad bar. Pace yourself and all will be done sooner or later. Stay healthy.

  6. You have a loy going on there Jay. When life gets busy like that for me I just split things down into smaller jobs rather than trying to get a larger job finished.
I have no advice for the yakon, I have never grown this before. I hope you can find a good answer for it.

  7. The tub will look great with the flowers. the salad bar is cool right where you want it. I have no idea with the yakon mate. Never tried it. Looks like your doing ok with garden though I have lots of stuff that I haven't got in. Thy Obi for the gojis. Dave

  8. I too started off about a month late due to weather and wet garden. My plants in the green house really where to big and by the time i put them out the peppers already have many flowers and some peppers forming.. I also had to x-plant them into much bigger pots so they would continue to grow healthy.

Once i put them outside the heat and sun outside was fairly intense and even after a few days of trying to harden off they still got sun scaled very badly. Good thing is they are and have started to recover and looking nice.

I am not sure if you move your lights up for making videos or not but i did notice your lights are quite a bit high which will cause your seedlings to be very leggy and unhealthy.

I don't know if you have neem oil and BT products in your area I would recommend using stuff like that to protect your sensitive seedlings outdoors. I didn't protect mine and a lot of the corn was ravished by bugs which has killed or badly stunted a lot of it.

I actually just made a video about products i use around the garden and house. I don't know if any of those product will be sold in your area or not.

Can say i know anything about Yacon but i did look them up a little. Looks like something to look more into as far as growing.

  9. I have no idea what is going on with your Yacon, as I am in the same boat as you with this being my first time growing it. If that were happening to one of my plants I would probably trim off those suspicious looking leaves.
