What about trying to get bare root systems you buy at the store to grow? I'm worried about the ones I bought. The entire display was somewhat dry, so I only bought one. But it felt like they weren't doing so hot. It was the purple one. I need accomodations to get it to start growing and get strong enough to transplant.

Can you not use a metal container where it heats up with the sun for the frost issue?
ALL the other videos and books say to dig a trench one to two feet deep – much more than a trowel or two. I wonder how your asparagus turned out compared to theirs.
I messed up and planted my 5 purple and 5 green asparagus roots upside down lol… My neighbor told me not to give up on them just yet…. its been 2 weeks or so…. I also have a lot of bull thistle weeds growing from 3-4 years of not gardening in those beds…
Should I replant with new roots or rhizomes???

Citric acid has neutral pH, it usually starts around 2-3 but goes up to 7 in time.

I have asparagus growing since about 3yrs. I live in MD and we are into Winter months. Should I add anything to them or just wait till Spring
In the first years after planting and not harvesting, wait for good growth or the fern and cut a few tips for the salad, beautiful.
