"Weeds" in my vegpatch arnt a concern, in my opinion, every plant is beneficial in someway. Those that get out of hand are jus chopped and dropped. Looks like youve got your plot well in hand anyhow. My garden looks more like it should be ready for planting rice, its going to be a poor year this year for me, completely water logged not a thing i can do about drainage. Ty for Vid.
It looks good mate. Try and get a better photo of the mystery plant. Hope you get everything sorted out but just throwing stuff in works was as you never know what your gonna get and plans always Change or grow wrong lol. I know this but every thing I grow I am thankful for, Dave
looking good! din't know about taters and amaranth. good to know. i have been harvesting some wild quinoa for the pigs recently. if you could get a close up of what you think might be purslane i could take a look at it.
I used mostly compost when I hilled my potatoes this year too and had a decent harvest. I think it is a very good idea. That mystery plant almost looks like catnip
Check out the plant genus "Galeopsis". There are some similar species, so you`ll have to study them closely to identify them. There`s also a similar genus called, "Lamium", that can be worth a check.
Will be interesting to see how the Quinoa grows for you Jay.. Have been harvesting a fair amount of amaranth leaves here & am really liking them.. Looks like you have it all sorted despite not having the time to plan it all out.. Happy growing mate 🙂
Dunno what the mystery plant is, but i know it isn't purslane, while there are some varieties in the South that bloom small yellowish-white flowers, the purslane up here blooms pinkish-white flowers and the leaves are wax-coated, remember purslane's adapted to doing well in semi-arid conditions, but all in all, your garden's lookin' just fine my good buddy, thumbs up!
I'm glad to see you trying quinoa again! It's one of my favorite grains. If you have a cat, bring him over to the mystery plant and see if it makes him very happy. 😀
Your mystery plant might be mint smell the leaves.

Mystery plant- they look like the lemon balm I tried to grow last year and trying again this year. At least the picture of them looks similar.
Love that open space for planting. Looking good. Your squashes from last year were awesome. You grow such interesting varieties.
