I love how out of the box Sepp was in this book. I loved how he said if anyone starting doing what he was doing he would stop and go try something new, this shows how much of an adventure loving guy he is.
I have seen some of the videos produced about his place. I think I will get the book.
Good stuff thanks for reminding me.
Thank you very much for informing me about the subject and Sepp Holzer great book book.
thanks for the book tip, I will go see if the library has a copy we are just planning our early spring gardens now. ..I am also interested in blacksmithing and I have spent two years setting up a shop..a book you might find interesting to add to your "do it yourself" library is a book called The Backyard Blacksmith" by Loreleli Sims,
I would love to read this. I already am using one of his ideas in my tire planters, by putting rotting sticks in the bottoms when I fill them. I know some of his ideas would work even here in the southern California desert.
i might have tp grab that book great job!
Thanks ! I don't know why I don't have this book. now i will get it !
I've seen videos on Sepp Holzer's amazing farm, but haven't read this book yet. I'm adding it to my list. I agree with your point about the need to continually observe nature and adapt. It's too easy to accept a doctrine and get stuck. Thanks for the book review.
good review, permaculture is the only thing that kept working when I couldn't. Most of my focus will be on this practice for 2015. Have a nice day!
Thanks guy for the review. Aieee!
The idea of localized weather modification and growing warm climate plants in a cold weather environment has always fascinated me.
My only suggestion when experimenting on your property is do it as secretly as you can so you don't have to waste time dealing with legal BS like Sepp has.
Thanks for your thoughts on the book Jay.. Have one straw (but haven't read it) & might track down a copy of Sepp's book as well..
Cheers mate
Very interesting book review Jay! I brought my father this book from Christmas and he's found it very interesting. My favorite part is his 'pick-your-own' idea on Page 43
