When hardening off the yacon I managed to sun scald it badly. When I set it out permanently I placed each in a different location that received direct sun exposure at different times of the day. Each has recovered. You be the judge.

What is Yacon? Never heard of it.
In the grow room in the Spring the ones you sent me had stems that were green and tender, and now that I have got them outside they seem to have hardened off and have changed colour to a reddish brown. Still not much leafy grown on them. I pricked out the tops to see if they would bush out, but that has not happened so I might have set them back a bit with that procedure.
We purchased another Yacun yesterday and replanted it in it's forever home. We're excited to see what next year's harvest will bring. Good luck on yours.
One of reasons why that yacon is the best one, could be that your house is absorbing the heat from the sun during the day and then releasing it during the night, so the yacon is a bit warmer at night and the other are not near a building.
great vid good experiment
It will be helpful to see the end results for where I plant mine next year. Did you leave the first one out in the pot all winter?
