"Thats a woman for you… " Nailed it!
I love Paula's filming!! Do you need a satellite phone because there is no cell service? I have never heard of that, it seems like a great safety feature, though. Hope you are having a great fall so far!
I love your philosophical musings.
"That's my rant for the day." "Oh no….it's still early." HA!
sounds as tho the sat. phone works like a transponder or epirb; it probably works very well/ better than the lost indian that you can't turn off on the tom tom network- you do realize it listens and talks everything goes up on the internet … Just kidding!
Really enjoy your videos and your journey! Fellow Canadian here! Also, from Newfoundland on my mom's side so you're in my neck of the woods. You guys should do a tag video like "Get to Know me" or the couples tag, so we can get to know you better! 🙂
Lol. "Turn left, turn right"
gorgeous mountain, is it yours?
You should rename this video, "The truth about women finally comes out!"
I have a little philosophizing about the rant, which I found thought-inducing for its earnestness, voicing a sentiment which resonates in me. I'd like to dig into this. What caused our predecessors to be so ruthlessly exploitative and destructive against Nature, and what have changed since? I believe, that to our ancestors, Canada appeared boundless with its masses of trees, huge, 'untamed' rivers and its vast, unexplored mineral and geological riches. What they didn't have is energy for industrialization, roads, railways, tunnels and bridges and the myriad other things, which Western Civilization needs for building a society endowed with comfort and conveniences which is desired by most. So that was the main impetus for what they did. What have changed since? Well, in this post-industrial era, about a Century later, we have those conveniences and connections which we have desired so much earlier, yet we take it for granted nowadays. What we don't have anymore is pristine, undisturbed Nature. So now we want that back, because one of the defining characteristic of Human Nature, and the source of its never ending restlessness and fickleness, that we don't appreciate what we have, instead, what we desire, (or yearning for) is what we don't have. (End of my rant). 🙂
LOL did anyone else see this phone and think of Jurassic park??
Guy's I'm gonna skip GGC 19! Don't fancy 600km of gravel road.
wow, you guys were sure lost in goose bay hahaha, wrong turns at every possible chance hahahahahhahaa
Oh man. I remember when that "highway" was just a dirt road, all the way to Churchill falls and beyond. Used to go on multiday fishing trips in a tent to that area. Seeing how it is now makes me want to do that drive with my wife so she can experience what my childhood in Goose was like, though my schools and the Q i lived in are now long gone, so it mightn't be the same.
I love that you put what Paula said in the video 😀
People like to rant about the destruction of the environment. They feel so good doing it to show off how concerning they are, but they don't give their cars, camper van, mobile phone, traveling around the country/world and so on and so on. And they love to drive on paved roads.
I moved to Goose Bay in 2007 from the Island for 10 weeks' of work.
Left in 2019, and though I was glad to return to somewhere more civilized to live, I loved my time there and have no regrets about living an adventure!
