  1. There is an ordinance in my town that says, 'Anything not expressly permitted; is prohibited' Found that one out when I was asking about bee keeping….

  2. Curtis,
I've downloaded those files that come with the purchase of your book, but the zip file won't extract. Tried it on several different computers. please help.
    thanks
    Dan

  3. glad I found you, been watching GYG for 5 years now and honestly wouldn't of found you without that last episode. Your thoughts are articulated nicely and I am in the works of doing the exact thing that you are once I'm done with college…exciting stuff.

  4. In the US, there are great resources online:

"This page provides information about federal, state, and local agricultural, health, and safety regulations affecting commercial urban farm operations. The section is organized according to the type of agricultural product you would like to sell."
    http://www.urbanaglaw.org/food-ag-and-health/

If your operating an urban farm as a business you need to research permit and sales tax requirements for selling at Farmers Markets and Flea Markets. Laws for where your business operates and laws for where you will sell, if the city or town is different than where you grow.
Your states Agricultural Extension website can also help with information specific to your states laws.

  5. Yes it is hard for a city or county to enforce a bylaw when you are trying to feed your family and people find this out. Don't get me wrong they will enforce the bylaw until there is enough outcry to get it changed. But I really hope there is a movement to change this in the U.S.!
