Thx a lot for taking the time to make these videos!! Huge inspiration. Keep it up.
Dandelions are very good on salads instead of cutting them back why don't you pick them and thank your neighbors for growing them for you?
Great video, Curtis! I love how much extra time you take to talk through your process and think out loud. I am going to make videos similar to this when I start my urban farm near Philly next season.
Great update….Thanks
Awesome week! I liked how you mentioned the temperatures for that day. It would be great if you could start to include the high and low temps for your week as we are all in different climate zones.
Hey Curtis, thanks for the video. On your cut and come again crops are you fertilizing within the cuttings? Or is your soil good enough to supply nutrients from the initial planting? It wasn't in the book, so thought I'd ask.
do you need some form of liscense degree or certification to do this?
How long does your Red Russian Kale take to sprout?
Can you share the recipe of your spring mix? Is it equal parts of what you said was in it? I'm also curious why you use salanova lettuce, it's so expensive, is it that good?
These videos are beyond great. Thanks for taking the time periodically throughout your week to share your process and thoughts. I'm young and thinking of taking a big jump into farming and these videos have been very motivational. Just think you should know the effect these videos can have. Cheers from Toronto!
would it be worth selling cuttings of gojo berries at the farmers market?
or bedding plants?
Would you be to much trouble to add me to your fresh sheet list ? I live way far away in Texas but would like to follow it in real time. I did get your example " fresh sheet " but I would really be interested in a real time study of them .
I know these are probably a pain in the ass to keep up but we all appreciate it very much, thanks a lot Curtis.
Curtis – Thanks so much for these video, one of your best, love the details. When harvesting salanova, are you cutting the whole "head" or just the outer leaves? If you're taking the whole head, does it grow back from that?
Hi Curtis, How many people do you have working for you?
What brand of plastic do you use? (With the lines on it)
Thankyou, your information / advice is always useful, reliable and and non-judgmental. I am jealous of your weather, here in Isle of Man (between UK and Ireland) i have barely hit 15 degress C outside !
thanks
You're a hard working smart man.. respect. .
you mentioned flame weeding again, I have a real weed problem in my garden, could you do a video on the different types of flame weeders you have, when to use each one and the proper technic, ie how much heat. jim
Love the weekly updates!
Do you share an itemized price list per pound? I know I can and will do more market research but just wondering
Getting pretty good at that one handed camera action Curtis. I like these a lot.
There's plenty to learn from these videos and your book even for us rural farmers. Especially in places like Colorado where even if we have 40 acres, only 1 acre is allowed to be irrigated per well permit, so we might as well be urban-sized. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos and the PV podcasts with Diego out of your busy schedule.
Curtis would you please do a video on proper feeding techniques for Carrots ,Peas,Onions, and cucumbers ?
thanks
I have watched a few of your videos and I was wondering if you could do a video on just your harvesting machine or machines. But if you have already did said video of what I have asked for can you please provide a link.
Do you have specific beds for trial or experiment crops so your production beds aren't impacted by experiment failures?
Hi Curtis .. When we harvest a couple of days before deliveries or markets , usually they reach the consumers in a not so fresh state. the greens on the radish will be wilted , most of the other greens will not look fresh and crispy , kale will soften.even tomatoes will wilt ! What are we doing wrong ?
Do you use the radish tops for anything? Understand you can eat them as well.
Awesome video Curtis? I took lots of notes…
