"slap your granny good" … I love it! LOL
Ok…so the root cellar answered my question about how you keep your meat cold without refrigeration…
Are those chicks peeping in the background? Awww!
we lived way down in the woods one whole year completely off grid and its one of my childrens favorite places to live and fondest memories and i cooked a lot on top of stove and we kept our food buried in the winter under the snow . We do live in maine so we can do that and we had a old veh that we used like a frig did what we had too had no other choice at the time
Look into dehydrating your rice for storage . I just ate some thats a little over a year old. You make regular white rice leaving out the pat of butter , and throw it on the dehydrator. I sealed them in mason jars. I am currently converting my long cook to instant as I am typing this .
Also check out artisantbreadswithstev on youtube. Never knead a loaf of bread again.
Fried bread yum! Powdered sugar is great on the fried bread or a squirt of chocolate syrup.
never heard of fried cucumbers…. is there a recipe I missed a long the way? would like to try these!
Nothing like home grown sweetcorn!!
that looks good
did you ever put dish soap on the bottoms of your pans so the suit wont stick to them so they clean up easy we did that in scouts when I was a kid cooking over a fire
Look at those quail eggs!!! yes, they are great tasting Patara!
Is 'Fried Cucumbers' a regional dish? and are they normal salad cucumbers or a special variety?
Bless you for doing this to help people.
I know you made apple butter, my mother use to can apples, have you thought about doing that for apple pies, or berries?
I have friends that did something like this for a year, the plan was to clean out their freezers without tossing anything
Did you hear about the woman that had a parakeet and bought quail eggs at whole foods and on a whim she put one of the eggs in with her parakeet and the dang thing hatched?!?
they used to get the water from the creek or a well if they were lucky enough to have one 🙂 this is so interesting and I admire you for doing it showing everyone the ole days 🙂 God Bless
never had fried corn I bet that is awesome 🙂
My husband tried to talk me into getting a milk cow before he passed but now I am seriously considering it, hate I waited so long to consider it ( hind sight ) but what kind gives off the most cream any idea ? I only know about beef cattle we ( now I ) raise them .
you truly doing a wonderful job thank you so very much for doing all of this , God Bless you and yours 🙂
