  1. Hi Patara I know what you mean about cleaning those Lodge cast iron pans they do get things stuck on a bit, to us here Lodge is the new brand of cast iron wear there are other brands that seem to be smoother, most of the Lodge pans have a pebbly/grainy bottom on my old hand me down pans there bottoms are smooth and things do not stick as bad, I have been using my Lodge pans for a few years but they are still pebbly/grainy but they are getting better. The Lodge pans you can still buy and they work, the older pans you need to get them at yard sales n such, but by far if I had to have one pan to cook it would be cast iron and I use what we call kitchen cook stove with cast iron top, perfect and lots of room to move pans around. I also find cleaning the pan as soon as you are done cooking is the slickest way to clean.

  2. I just added this to my homestead wishlist. I am always on the lookout for cast iron pans at garage sales, goodwill or flea markets. it's my favorite type of pan because it's so versitile

  3. Man, you're right about the brushes used to clean CI!! They just get so nasty. I'm gonna get one of these. Did you order it of the maker's website or did you go to Amazon?

  4. Yes I have a small collection of vintage cast iron skillets and griddles that I use, and while I still use a plastic scraper and a brush, I primarily use a couple of different sized pieces of chain mail to clean them.  Thanks for the video!

  5. I just got mine I love it realy cleans it good doesn't hurt the pan better than a steel wool scrubber and better comes nice and clean the chain mail
