Thank you very much. I live in zone 10A and your video did help. I am curious though ( even through winter), when is 90 degrees and humidity is in the 80s should I protect them from the Sun, usually that's only between the hours of 1 and 4/5, keeping the mat in the morning and late afternoon?

Where I live in Northern California the only eggplants I can grow are smaller varieties due to the lack of sunlight even though there is sufficient waourter.

I just started growing eggplants. Or at least trying to. Just as an experiment, I planted a whole one that was going bad juat to see what would happen. Would that work?

So AFTER they ripen and can be slightly dented they turn hard? [2:25] Since they’re hard early, now unsure if I missed the ‘window’ when they’re ripe/soft…. or did I miss something?

Thanks.1 I'm a new gardener and my eggplant plants grew huge and flowered but then the flowers died. We've had tons of rain here, but enough sun and I think it was because they needed phosphorus added when the flowered. If at first you don't succeed, try again 🙂
I have an eggplant growing and its small, but its shinny and nice and hard , Do i harvest it yet?
