I m originally from india with mango & sapota farms but planning to kick it all off in the us of a 🙂 & it will all start with your online course & give it a go in Michigan where i plan to live with my family:)
I kind of wish I took a lesson before I farmed, but like this guy, you still have to learn the novice lessons the hard way. I've never had money, or land, and you need those to fast track like this guy. I'm dealing with about 6 farms like his who farm nearly all the same, and sprung up in rapid succession. It forces me to constantly adapt ahead, and even get away from farming and into mycology, because everytime I pull another successful crop idea, the market is saturated 50% by other farmers the following year. It's good they are farming, but like older communities of farmers they should respect their neighbors and their staple crop incomes. because not everyone gets parent financing.

What do you do when people in your area don't eat things like micro greens and baby root vegetables. It's all green beans, onions, tomatoes, squash, potatoes. Old school veggies.

QUESTION for Scott: (16 minutes into video), you talk about selling your goods to grocery stores. Were these chain stores (ie. Food Lion, Safeway, etc) or were they small family-run local grocery stores?

wow, Scott you are an inspiration! Thanks for showing this to us Curtis and yes Drew Sample is an awesome dude. I love his podcasts. It is through Drew's podcast that I learned about you, Curtis. I can relate to the whole planting thing, like I thought I would have lettuce for a salad mix by now and the Salanova Crisp is really slow to grow, it is actually concerning me. So, I have decided to just plant more of other types of lettuce. Meanwhile, my wife and I will be enjoying a lot of beet greens for dinner, the kale is being sold though.

A good tip, if a farmers market falls through and you have no where to sell..get a wagon or a bike trailer and sell door to door..leave a business card with your logo for every sell so people will recognize it at stores and markets when you finally get set up..
Curtis, I want to grow like you. However I am 66 yrs old and cant bend over to the ground. Which crops would allow you to stand up mainly upright. I appreciate your advice
