Unbelievable this is what I wanted to do this season and God places your video with great ideas in the nick of time. God Bless you and your family. Love to Butterscotch!
For those without a woodstove, a crockpot on low heat works great. My favorite scents are the ones used for mulled cider with lots of orange. 🙂
great idea! will be doing this today
I love doing this in my crock pot. We dont have a wood stove and I hate leaving the electric stove on because I forget lol… Crockpot with a timer works amazing.
To freshen the air in your home after cooking stinky foods like onions, garlic, etc… I bring to a boil 3 parts vinager + 1 part water. Simmer for at least two hours. Really makes your house smell clean.
I miss having a wood stove, but love to do this in my mini crockpot, thanks for the great video.
simmering wassil is my favorite, and has a lot of those ingridients. God Bless you and your family and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Wood stoves are not big in the UK. But when I was a kid my nan would get us grandkids plugging whole cloves into oranges or making herb ties that she would put hang down from door ways so as you walked under you could smell it or over the radiators. She doesnt do it any more but maybe I will make her some for xmas, maybe get my little cousin in on it.
For a no heat method, essential oils in a diffuser will give you a similar experience. Lemon, peppermint, lavender, clove, even pine, get their scent from their essential oils.
Why do you prefer stainless steel over cast iron kettles?
I love the orange cinnamon, apple, and pine smells. I will have to step out of my little box and try new things! 🙂
I love orange, clove, and ginger.
I love all of those scents, I can't wait to try.
Oh yea, Wanda from DSH sent me.
love you both
oooh. I have some dried juniper berries. I'm going to try them.
Be careful with pine if you have children with sensory (spd) or adhd. It can set them off, or overload them. A doc shared that with me.
I bet it smells so good. Have a great day!!!
I do this here in MI, we get very dry here and I use a big stainless crockpot. I go to the dollar store and pick up cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice and vanilla. It's only a dollar per container and lasts a good while. The whole house smells like Christmas.
I've also put brown bottle Lysol if y'all remember that when there was someone with a cold etc.
I love my simmer pot! I keep mine going year round – my go to recipe is 1 cinnamon stick, a tbsp of vanilla, orange & apple peels! I'll keep filling mine with water and stretch it out for 2 or 3 days. Burning scented candles bothers a lot of the occupants in my home, so this has been a lifesaver.
Looks wonderful and I know the aroma is heavenly 🙂
I was wondering, i have COPD and can't be around most scented products. I can do the natural scents like the fruits and things but i was wondering if i got the Germ Fighter does anyone know if that would make my COPD worse or effect it in any way?
