Just got home from the free Christmas lights with kids and grandkids. Had hot chocolate and movies last night. Will bake lots of cookies for friends and neighbors. We will continue to stick up and prepare.

Listening, besides the bible tells us NOT to paint ourselves up. I used to but stopped when we went rural. Folks out here think you are a "Painted Lady' if you wear any mascara or blush or anything. lol. Took a bit to get used to having 'no eyes' lol mascara & liner make such a huge I think positive difference in how good I look but never the less I stopped. Oh well. Sure saves time daily & no more racoon eyes. All the best. Oh ps I'm a Canuck via 20+ years in US NY to LA & in between. Now in Oz….I spoke to the grocery store stockers in our small town & they informed me all the trucks are coming in partially loaded, not fully as they used to. Very disappointing they said.

Just went to walmart for some needed items this afternoon and bought:
•2 cases of quart sized canning jars (1@$12, and 1@$14)
•Small bottle of store-brand midol ($2.98)
•7 small bottles of mucus relief caplets at .88 each
•biggest bottle of generic benadryl ($9)
•72-count pkg of decongestant ($7)
•2liter of generic diet coke ?
•loaf of garlic bread ?
$70. By the time I grabbed the coke and the garlic bread, I just wanted OUT and didn't note the last two prices. I'm fixing to check the receipt, but….so over walmart. They are the cockroach of retail.

My husband doesn't work for Wal-Mart but the company where he works have stopped requiring them to work mandatory overtime for the first time in a very long time. For years he's worked an extra hour every day and an extra day every other week.
If they are laying off during the busiest time of the year–it's not the busiest retail time of the year, is it?
